RTITB to Host GDPR Event
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is the most important change in data privacy regulations in 20 years, and we’re hosting an event to help businesses get prepared for the alterations.
The new law will be coming into effect on 25th May 2018 and if you’re thinking this may not affect you, GDPR applies to anyone who collects, uses and stores personal data either electronically or in paper filing systems.
GDPR applies to all organisations within the EU and also outside the EU that offer goods or services to individuals in the EU. It applies to delivering training because personal data is collected from the trainee by the training organisations – this is being a “data controller” and the data is passed to RTITB - this is being a “data processor”. Penalties for non-compliance with GDPR are fines of up to €20M or up to 4% of total global revenue of the preceding year, whichever is the greater.
The purpose of the seminar is to give you all the information you need in relation to the upcoming legal changes, and help you identify the changes needed to become compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation.
We want to help you understand the new law and enable you to achieve compliance easily with our support. With the appropriate compliance framework in place, not only will you be able to avoid significant fines and reputational damage, you will also be able to show customers that you are trustworthy and responsible, and derive added value from the data you hold.
The business benefits of The EU General Data Protection Regulation:
- Build customer trust
- Improve information security
- Improve competitive advantage
