Managing and Supervising Material Handling Equipment Training
Our Managing & Supervising Material Handling Equipment (MHE) operations course enables managers and supervisors to identify their responsibilities regarding MHE operations. The course will also equip them to identify and apply steps to minimise risks related to MHE in the workplace.
Successful completion of the course will require candidates to complete a theory test and hazard perception test.
This course covers, but is not limited to, the following areas;
- The importance of supervising MHE operations
- Walking the floor
- Regulations and risks
- Manager and supervisor responsibilities
- Operator training
- Operational safety
- Theory in practice
- The next steps for compliance
Course Durations (based on 12 candidates):
- Novice: 7.25 hours
- Refresher: 7.25 hours
The requirement of PUWER is "Every employer shall ensure that any of his employees who supervises or manages the use of work equipment has received adequate training for purposes of health and safety, including training in the methods which may be adopted when using the work equipment, any risks which such use may entail and precautions to be taken." Attending this course will ensure you are compliant with this legal requirement.
