This course provides candidates with the necessary skills to assess and report on the quality of material handling equipment (MHE) operators prior to employing/authorising them to work. The Lift Truck Assessor course prepares candidates to carry out assessments, it does not prepare them to deliver remedial. IF this is required for your business, the Lift Truck Instructor course would be the most appropriate course, as this covers assessing and instructing.

By the end of the course candidates will:

The course covers the following:

  • Relevant regulations/health and safety
  • MHE assessment procedures
  • Skills and task analysis
  • Assessment of the all 3 elements of the materials handling equipment basic skills testing, including pre-use inspection, practical driving and associated knowledge
  • Operator test marking sheets
  • Report writing
  • Accident, truck defect and periodical driving assessments

  • Examination:

    In order to pass the Lift Truck Operator Assessor course you will be required to pass an examination consisting of three elements:

    • Basic Operator Skills test – all three elements (pre-use, practical and associated knowledge)
    • Associated knowledge multiple choice theory paper (Pass mark is 80%)
    • Conduct an assessment of practical operating ability

This course is suitable for candidates who:

  • Have significant experience as a lift truck operator
  • Have proof of successfully completing the operator skills test within the last 3 years
  • Have the confidence to objectively assess the performance of their peers
  • Have good attention to detail
  • Have good written skills
  • Have good verbal communication skills

Our Lift Truck Assessor course can be delivered on your premises, subject to meeting the facilities criteria, which can be found here. We run these courses on request, on dates to suit your business. Our prices are based on a day rate, not the amount of candidates, which is £650 per day of training plus travel, accommodation and subsistence.
