For over 10 years the Commercial Vehicle Show has remained the largest annual road haulage exhibition in the UK and the RTITB Master Driver CPC Team are excited to be joining hundreds of companies from the UK’s road haulage and logistics industry at the event for the first time since 2000.

Over the three day event the Master Driver CPC team will be promoting the consortium, the Master Driver Registration Scheme (MDRS) and the associated benefit. With the deadline for Periodic Training completion getting ever closer, it will be hard to ignore the opportunity to join the 53,000 drivers already trained by Master Driver CPC Consortium members.

Attendance to the CV Show is free and can be registered via the official website here. For more information on RTITB’s involvement at the CV Show, visit our official Twitter and Facebook pages.

We will be joining hundreds of organisations from throughout the logistics industry at the East of England Showground, promoting the use of our Master Driver Consortium members and the Master Driver Registration Scheme (MDRS). We will also be sponsoring the 2012 Best Small Fleet award.

Since its inception Truckfest has grown to an impressive scale, with five events now being held throughout the year. With the many changes that have occurred within the road haulage and logistics industry that have seen many other, traditional events fade in popularity, Truckfest has remained victorious, with approximately 103,000 attendees recorded at 2011’s Peterborough event.

On RTITB’s involvement with Truckfest 2012, Laura Nelson, Operation’s Director at RTITB said: “RTITB are excited to be sponsoring Truckfest 2012 and particularly to be helping the event celebrate it’s 30th anniversary. As an event that specifically targets drivers rather than organisations, we felt that Truckfest would be a great way in which to reach out to those driver’s. RTITB last attended Truckfest in 2000 and as this year’s event will also be held in the year before the Driver CPC for LGV deadline, it was the perfect time for RTITB to appear again. We can’t wait and plan to have some great surprises for the attendees!”

Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased via the official Truckfest website. To keep up to date with RTITB’s involvement in Truckfest, visit our events page or Twitter page.

Important Information for Master Driver Consortium Members

All Consortium Members, should have by now received the new Master Driver DVD (version 3.0_10_11).

It has come to light that there is a compatibility issue concerning the embedded videos, within some presentation material on the new Master Driver DVD (version 3.0_10_11).

The clips affected are largely the short you tube clips within the presentation section of the DVD, and the issue relates to formatting problems between PowerPoint 2010 and earlier versions of the office suite.

It should be noted that not all users will necessarily experience this issue because it depends on a number of variables, including operating systems, office versions and video codec's installed on the PC/laptop. The problem manifests itself on the slides containing embedded video and the effect is that the video doesn't play.

RTITB would like to apologise for this inconvenience, unfortunately the nature of the issue makes it difficult for the problem to present itself in testing. However a solution is possible and will be implemented for an updated DVD which we currently estimate will be released in January. In the interim, please find below links for the affected videos from you tube:

Module 2b slide 101 & Module 3b slide 11: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rww9oFNoNi8

 Module 2a slide 134: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjOvI0TOx98

Once again RTITB would like to apologise however the overall delivery of the courses is unaffected and the DVD remains fit for purpose. In the meantime if you have any further questions relating to the DVD please contact our course developer; Alex Samson on 01952 520202 or email alex_samson@rtitb.co.uk

Kind Regards,
