RTITB Environmental Policy
The board of RTITB recognises the potential health and environmental impacts of its operations and services and the need to manage and reduce these where practicably possible. We will respond positively to these concerns and it is our company policy to ensure that they are acceptable to the community and that any adverse effects on the environment are kept to a minimum.
RTITB is committed to design, develop and deliver quality services whilst minimising the potential harmful effects of such actions, including the prevention of pollution, whenever and wherever this is practicable. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of the environmental management system, which will enable RTITB to deliver continual environmental improvement and maintain business excellence.
We are committed to achieving environmental best practice throughout our business activities by:
- Regularly monitoring and striving to reduce energy consumption, where reasonably possible.
- Continually examining our operations and processes to ensure best use of resources, minimise waste and maximise the use of suitable recycled materials.
- Monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of the transport policy on a continual basis so that the environmental impact is kept to a minimum.
- Complying with all relevant legislation and striving to exceed requirements where this is practicably possible and appropriate.
- Assisting our suppliers in formulating their own environmental policies and the development of environmental management systems.
- Reviewing regularly all environmental aspects of the organisation and continually working towards objectives and targets to ensure continual improvement.
- Seeking to integrate environmental considerations and future business policy decisions.
- Communicating this policy as appropriate to customers and suppliers.
- Developing a system to implement and review this policy.
RTITB will continually monitor the environmental management system and take corrective action as required to ensure the aims and objectives are met and that the system delivers continual environmental improvements.
The board of directors is committed to this policy and shares the responsibility for environmental management with all employees who have a joint responsibility to assist in the continual improvement of our environmental performance.
