Step by Step Guide to LGV Training
Obtain relevant forms to apply for provisional entitlement
The forms required are D2 and D4 (Envelope reference EN244p) these can be obtained from the DVLA.
Your own GP can conduct the required medical examination and will complete form D4 on your behalf. There is also a Doctor associated with The RTITB Academy who is available in the evenings and weekends, and charges £32. Dr Hill can be contacted on 07802 690896.
Apply for provisional entitlement
Complete forms D2 and D4 return to the DVLA. Please ensure you select the correct category from section 3 in form D2. If you need any assistance with completing the form the RTITB Academy Team will be happy to assist you.
DSA theory & hazard perception test
You need to have passed your theory & hazard perception test in order to be eligible for your practical test. You can book your theory & hazard perception test via the DSA website. However if you do not feel able to fully prepare for the test unsupported the RTITB Academy offers a half day theory and hazard perception course. The theory & hazard perception test is then undertaken in the afternoon following the training at Shrewsbury or Wolverhampton test centre.
Free driving assessment
This is a one to one consultation spent in the vehicle with an instructor, at the end of the assessment you and the instructor will discuss the number of hours training needed in order to give you the best possible chance of passing your test. LGV practical driver training
The Academy is flexible and will work around your work and family commitments. We are able to accommodate block bookings, weekend training, or short 4hr training sessions. Simply choose the BEST OPTION FOR YOU
DSA LGV driving test
This is arranged to take place at the end of your practical training by the RTITB Academy Team.
